Getting The Best Price

Getting the best price

Most vendors in France give their property to several different estate agents. This can mean that you will see the same property at different prices in different agencies, depending on the commission they charge or whether the vendor has remembered to tell them of a price reduction. If you know that two agents have the same property on their books, it is always wise to check the two prices before visiting the property, as if you have signed a visiting slip you can only buy it through that agency.

Always ask your agent if a particular property is likely to sell for less than the asking price; they usually know and will usually tell you. In any case, always make an offer - most vendors have an initial price and a “will sell at” price.
