Estate Agents or Agences Immobilières
There are many high street estate agents in France, and these days most of them will have some English speaking staff.
You can just call in to an agency on spec but it is always best to make an appointment in advance via the internet or telephone. Most agents have bookings for some time ahead, and they will be able to give you more time - and will take you more seriously - if you have arranged your trip beforehand.
If you would like to visit a property, you will probably be asked to sign a visiting slip - a “bon de visite” to confirm that you have seen the property through this agency. This is so that the agency has a clear entitlement to their commission if you later go on to buy the house.
